Detroit Diesel Series 71 Tune -up
Updated: Jun 27
The "Screaming Green Machine" was in need of a tune-up. Out of the water for 15+ years plus a 10 year restoration and 5 years back in the water it was time for a much needed tune-up. Mike Terry from WESTERN BRANCH DIESEL, INC., with 35 years experience working on Detroit Diesels was our choice to work on the old engine. Per Mike Terry - " The covers were pulled and the rack was way off. After the rack was adjusted the valves were adjusted to .016 I set injectors to 1.46. Started and no leaks. Ran and had no smoke. "
